We are very excited to announce that this year's Kickstart Weekend Keynote Speaker is Shark Tank success story, Chris Gilpin, President and CEO of SignalVault, LLC. He will be sharing his experience on what it takes to form a successful company and how he got to where he is today!

Chris Gilpin, 36, is the President and CEO of SignalVault, LLC. based out of Sanford, FL. Chris resides in Debary, FL with his wife Stacie and their two sons, Aiden and Evan. He attended Daytona Beach Community College before transferring to the University of Central Florida to study Computer Science. Chris spent 5 years as the Senior Consultant for the National Crime Stop Program, conducting seminars and workshops on Identity Theft & Computer Crime for thousands of companies, private groups and government agencies in Florida. He is state certified as a Victim’s Advocate for Identity Theft & Computer Crimes victims.

At a security conference in 2012, Chris watched a demonstration showing how easily credit and debit card information could be stolen using an RFID scanner. The current solutions for this problem were low-tech and impractical so Chris began working on what became the SignalVault Credit & Debit Card Protector.

During the R&D phase of the device, Chris hit five out of six numbers in the Florida lottery and won $8,000, which he used as capital to create the SignalVault prototype, build his website, order initial inventory and for marketing. He officially launched the company in September of 2013, just months before the Target data breach. Chris was requested by news stations across the country to give his expert advice to consumers on how to protect themselves moving forward and had the opportunity to talk about his new invention, selling over 30,000 units within his first year.

In January of 2015, Chris attended an open casting call in Miami for ABC’s hit show Shark Tank. After months of emails, paperwork, video submissions and practice, Chris was flown out to Los Angeles to pitch to the Sharks. His episode aired on September 25th , 2015 which was the season seven premiere and featured Ashton Kutcher as a guest investor. He walked out of the “Tank” with two sharks - Lori Greiner and Robert Herjavec.

Chris and the SignalVault have been featured on CNBC,, Forbes, CNBC, The View and Good Morning America. Currently, his invention protects over 500,000 people worldwide and is available in stores nationwide. He is currently working on several new inventions and loves doing public speaking on his unique story, motivation and the things that have made him successful to audiences around the world.
